Dear Families,

Welcome to the new school year! The IHP offers an outstanding educational program with extraordinary staff and parent support. The FIHP executive board and parent volunteers work together to raise funds for various needs outlined below.

In 2019-20, FIHP Annual Giving provided funds for the following:

  • 40 new Chromebooks and Cart
  • American Math Competition
  • “Math Counts” Program
  • Digital Vocabulary License
  • Shakespeare Program via Zoom
  • Student Aid for Annual Trips
  • Parent Ed Speakers
  • 8th Grade Culmination
  • 12 Science Lab Stools
  • Local Field Trips
  • Science Fair & Science Bowl
  • Literature & Reference Books
  • Screenings of “Screenagers”
  • Teacher’s Supplies & Wish Lists
  • Teacher Development

Although our students are facing a decidedly different virtual school experience this year, the need for fundraising has not diminished. In fact, Annual Giving is paramount in importance since we won’t be able to hold in-person fundraising events. We’ve worked directly with the IHP teachers and adjusted this year’s budget to align with virtual learning needs and enrichment opportunities.

FIHP suggests a donation of any amount that works for you, to directly benefit your child’s education this school year. We recognize that this time has been financially difficult for many of our families, and all should feel comfortable providing what they can to help keep IHP strong. Our fundraising goal is 100% participation at any level. Please donate online. You can also send a check to: Friends of the IHP, P.O. Box 1380, Studio City, CA 91614-1380.

Donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. Federal Tax ID #95-4390665. Don’t forget to check with your HR department if your employer matches donations.

Many companies will match your donation! Check with your HR department to see if your employer participates in an employee matching gift program, and email to get started.

FIHP is the only organization responsible for supporting the unique needs of IHP students. FIHP works cooperatively with other school groups, such as the PTSA, Music Boosters, and Friends of Reed--which raises money to benefit all Walter Reed students. We hope you will also consider contributing to them.
